Whole Body Vibration
Optmize your Exercise. Read on…

In Canada, many adults and children are obese. Often people are just not eating well, and they are not as active as families in the past. Exercise is not often a priority in our busy and stressful lives, and our work and play is often sedentary: computer work and computer game use is often the problem. When there is a lack of activity and exercise, fat accumulates in the body, often in the worst areas – in and around your internal organs, called visceral fat. Visceral fat is found in all body types, thin, medium, and obese, and is associated with many diseases.
One major challenge to getting people more active is the ‘I don’t have time’ factor. In addition to the time you currently devote to exercise, there is an additional way to optimize your results. From my research, I have found a new exercise device, called ‘whole-body vibration.’ It has been tested and researched for over 30 years, dating back to Russian cosmonaut research. This whole body vibration (WBV) technology was instrumental in allowing the Russian cosmonauts to stay healthy for much longer in space compared to the other astronauts from other nations. Its benefit is based on the frequent vibration waves sent through the body, which causes most muscles in your body to rapidly contract, 25-50 times per second. This means that you can get an effective workout in 10-15 minutes of time. Doing this 3 times a week is enough to see benefits in a matter of weeks.
It has been studied and developed so much that it is found not only in professional and Olympic fitness facilities, but also in medical-rehabilitation clinics. Now, our naturopathic office offers whole-body vibration exercise/therapy, on its own, or as part of the Weight & Metabolism Program.
